Other Activities
Land Rover Experience provides a wide range of alternative activities. Here is a brief overview of our main activities at Coniston. For more information about these and other activities which we run please click here to contact us.
CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING
The Coniston Shooting Grounds (formerly known as the Craven Shooting Grounds) opened in 1990 and over the last 13 years has developed into one of the best equipped and most popular venues in the North of England. Peter Manley, Martin Cooper and Michael Richardson, with the assistance of several excellent instructors, are on hand to assist both novices and experienced people alike. The sport can be enjoyed by the young and the not so young and by male and female alike.
The facilities include Down the Line, English Skeet and English Sporting. We can also provide I.S.U. Skeet and F.I.T.A.S.C. Sporting. Our sporting layouts are designed to test the established shot whilst encouraging the beginner.
Please give us a ring for individual and group prices - gift vouchers are also available.
FALCONRY
Meet the hawks, falcons and eagles at our Falconry Centre and watch them fly to your own gloved fist. All our sessions are 'hands on' to give you maximum interaction with the birds. Individuals and groups are welcome.

FISHING
Overlooked by the Hall, the 24-acre lake is stocked with brown and rainbow trout, providing excellent fly fishing throughout the season.
Alternatively, you can try your luck on the 2.5 mile stretch of the River Aire which flows through the estate grounds. Boats are available for the lake and the Estate Gamekeeper offers tuition in casting skills.
ARCHERY
The archery team consists of certified coaches, all of whom are veteran European and World Champions to give you the best tuition possible in this popular and long-standing sport.
Compound and recurve take-down bows are provided for you, along with aluminium arrows.
The team has evolved a simplified coaching method to allow you to learn quickly, hit the targets and score from an early stage.
Individuals and groups are welcome.
HOVERCRAFT
Experience a most exhilarating time over land or on the lake. Riding on a cushion of air, the hovercraft provides a truly unique experience. With simple throttle and steering controls it needn't take long to learn the principles of driving a hovercraft, but the exhilaration will keep you endlessly enthralled.
Following expert tuition, you take the controls, but be prepared - manoeuvring the craft is not as simple as it looks! Half day or full day sessions.
Hovercrafting is for groups of 30 people of more.
HORSE AND CARRIAGE DRIVING
A must for the 'would be' Prince Philips!
Guests are guided around a course of cones in a horse drawn carriage and are scored for accuracy. Once tried you'll find yourself hooked, thanks to the skills of your instuctor - a national champion horse tandem driver.
